BLOG - JWOF's Virtual Conference Series - RECLAIM
RECLAIM
Yes, we have been there---the valley--- the place where we question our faith, doubt our abilities, long for family’s and/or friends’ appreciation, struggle for professional recognition, query why happiness isn’t on our playlist, and at times even accept abuse. The list is extensive. The journey can be frequent and lonely.
I reflect on that moment when I said a final goodbye to my matrimonial home. In a private moment, I visited every corner of the house, tearfully reflecting …. and with a sigh, exited my former home, family as I knew it, and marital status for the last time.
With a combination of relief, gratitude and sorrow, the good news is, I like you, eventually moved from the valley to the hillside; at times since, I have seen the mountaintop and faced other valleys. Take yourself to the one you like---Guys Hill, Bull Head, Newcastle, Denham, Mount Diablo, Sugar Loaf. Look down at the beauty, look up at the possibilities.
However, come back in time to join the Jamaican Women of Florida on Saturday, April 18, 2020 at noon, as we reclaim, take back, transform ourselves to a more positive place. Together we will resume a higher ground and regain possession of ourselves from the grips and challenges of everyday life.
The Reclaim session, the first of a three-part series, promises to be truly invigorating. You’ll enjoy moderated discussions with accomplished panelists, who are experts at helping us identify the situation(s) in our unique contexts that may be pressing us down. You’ll learn how to decompress, how to find your “middle ground,” and learn how to take back that portion of ‘YOU,’ that will enable and empower you to move on to your hill capably.
Best of all, you will do this for FREE from the comfort of your home - by the pool, on the patio or porch, wherever you choose! Make it a date, tomorrow, April 18, 2020, at noon. Secure your favorite drink, and join us for a fabulous afternoon. Register right away at Jwoflorida.Org. and get ready for total transformation.
At the end of the discussion, hang out with us, for our happy’her’ hour. You will be able to browse and purchase from hand-selected vendors; we are known to bring you the best from Jamaica, and here locally. Grab the broom, party heartily, virtually, or just enjoy the music of DJ Mark Swaby.
Be ready, register, visit https://www.jamaicanwomenofflorida.com/ to learn more about our panelists, invite a friend or two, and meet us on the screen. Be part of history as the Jamaican Women of Florida present their 6th Annual Women’s Empowerment Conference, first time virtually, and it’s Free.
