Jamaican Women of Florida POSTPONES 6th Annual Women’s Empowerment Conference

Fort Lauderdale, FL. (March 12, 2020) – With an outpouring of abundant concern for the safety of those planning to attend the 6th Annual Jamaican Women of Florida (JWOF), Women’s Empowerment Conference, the Board of Directors regretfully announce their decision to postpone their event held locally at Parrot Jungle in Miami. The event was scheduled to take place on Saturday, March 21st from 9 am to 4:30 pm, with a friendly competition after for participants to win a wine basket and bragging rights as top JWOF wine cocktail creator.

As the world continues to make strides towards containing the spread of the COVID-19 virus, Florida has not escaped its pervasive spread. With that in mind, board members decided it was in the best interest of the community to postpone the event.

JWOF patrons always anticipated interacting withprominent subject matter experts who always leftattendees feeling filled after the day’s event. This year’s event theme of Reclaim, Rebalance, Reset, had a remarkable line up of panelists ready to share their wisdom in showing conference participants the key to best living. Conference participants would have had a day’s experience of teachings that brought them full circle in reclaiming, balancing, and resetting their lives, personally, financially, physically, and emotionally.

Organizers, sponsors and supporters want to assure you of their commitment to working towards a new date before the end of this year. “We are following the guidelines set forth by the CDC, WHO and local authorities governing the gathering of large groups,” said Arlene Lewis-Marr, JWOF President. “We continue to hold all people infected with the grave virus in our prayers and hope for complete recovery for everyone,” she concluded.
