Congratulations to Tyra Lee Fairley! Tyra Lee is an 18 year old graduating senior at Dr. Michael Kropp Senior High School in Miami Gardens.  Miss Fairley is second generation Jamaican, her mother a native of Kingston, relocated to the United States at age 13.

Miss Fairley is the 2017 recipient of the JWOF Powerful Women – Next Generation Scholarship and intends to pursue a career in anesthetic nursing.  She maintains a 3.9 GPA, and has been accepted to Florida International University and also Bethune Cookman College, a historically black institution in Daytona Beach, Florida.  She is currently awaiting a response from the Miami-Dade Honors Program.  During college, she intends to continue speaking to children about autism and anti-bullying through her non-profit Foundation - For Autism Against Bullying (FAAB) - she recently created dedicated to benefitting the lives of autistic people including her two brothers who are victims to this disorder.

Among the many persons who have influenced her life, she is inspired by her aunt who is an OB/GYN nurse in California, and intends to relocate there on completion of her college studies.  During her off time, Miss Fairley enjoys writing stories and playing competitive tennis, and also recently tutored at the Bill Murray Tennis Academy.
