Debra Ehrhardt – renowned writer/performer will be a member of the Transformation panel at the 2019 JWOF Women’s Empowerment Conference and Scholarship Fundraiser.

At the tender age of seven, Kingston, Jamaica native, Debra Ehrhardt, knew her dream was to come to America and study theatre. After honing her craft on the east she moved west and California has been her home base for the past twenty years. She began writing her own plays based on her life experiences in Jamaica and has performed all over the world to rave reviews.

Previous productions include Mango, which received two NAACP Awards, Invisible Chairs, which was produced by David Strasberg at the Marilyn Monroe Theatre in West Hollywood and later optioned as a situation comedy by Fox; and JAMAICA FAREWELL which was optioned and produced by wife of Tom Hanks, Rita Wilson and Garry Marshall at the Falcon Theatre.  She is currently performing her new shows DANGEROUS DIVAS and COCK TALES: Shame on Me!

Debra maintains the fundamental belief that content is king, and to that end she imbues her work with tenderness, subtlety, and intensity, striving tirelessly to emphasize what makes art meaningful: honest emotion.

We are thrilled to have Debra be a part of this year’s conference and hope you do too!
